How simple does life get
In the rain
Sitting on the porch
Beer in hand ---listening
To the tatter pitter-patter
Of the rain
The dark cloudy skies
The lack of nature sounds
Just the droning of the rain
And the softness it implies
Washing away the harshness
Of the world
Soothing the worries of the mind
Leaving heavy drooping eyes
And you to contemplate
There is nothing more calming
Then the rain
